Large picture The atmosphere of happiness and tranquility on Boulevard Champlain in Quebec City is painted with oil paints on canvas with a thick stretcher. The painting was created over the course of four months. Layer by layer the artist thought through the plot and realized his plans. The technique of oil painting using a palette knife is considered quite complex and time-consuming. The layers of paint need to be dried so that they do not mix with each other and only then continue to create new layers of a different color. The glazing technique was also used. Glazing is one of the technical methods of applying paints to a base in a thin, translucent layer, for which purpose the amount of binder in the paint is increased.
